Comparing meal plans

Know the difference between a block meal and meal plan dollars when comparing meal plans.

Block Meal

A block meal is an entrée, side, and beverage. They are valid at any dining location and have no cash value.

Meal Plan Dollars

Meal plan dollars are the currency for dining purchases only and have no cash value. They are valid at any dining facility on campus, the T-Store, and vending machines. They expire at the end of the academic year (as long as the student has an active on-campus meal plan both Spring and Fall semesters).

On-Campus Meal Plans

Students living in a traditional residence hall must have an on-campus meal plan. (Students living in Aspensen Mogensen Hall, Chancellors Hall, Haymarket Landing and The Priory are exempt from this policy but may purchase an on-campus meal plan if they would like).

Meal plan dollars for on-campus meal plans expire at the end of the academic year (as long as the student has an active on-campus meal plan both Spring and Fall semesters).

Students living on campus select their meal plan through the Housing Portal.

Off-Campus Meal Plans

Students living off-campus (or in Aspenson-Mogensen Hall, Chancellors Hall, Haymarket Landing or The Priory) are not required to have a meal plan. Off-campus students may select an on-campus meal plan if they choose for added convenience. Select off-campus meal plans through eAccounts.
